Timing

Since discovering her ability to change into the form of a mermaid a month ago, Kate had become quite adept at the shapeshifting process. She was even starting to challenge herself now, initiating the change while still on land and seeing if she could reach the water before the changes completed. Sometimes, she was perfect and dove into the sea just as her legs fused into a beautiful violet tail, though sometimes her timing was just off enough that she ended up laying there on the sand, a sunbathing beach mermaid rather than one swimming through the ocean free.
